Video Series on Health Care Reform

Below are great videos, from SWOPblogger, that have great interviews regarding the Health Care debate (or lack of debate).

The interviews were conducted by a dear friend and contsituent, Aurea out of SWOP. Aurea interviewed fellow District 6 constituents Karen Cathey and Enrique Cardiel, APS School Board Member Lorenzo Garcia, New Mexico State Representative for District 13 Eleanor Chavez, and myself, Albuquerque City Councilor for District 6 Rey Garduño.

Watch and join the debate by commenting here or on SWOPblogger.

Swuppets

from SWOPblogger

"Swuppets" was made by the SWOP Youth Interns. Great tool for teaching folks about government. Who ever did the voice overs did an amazing job! (wink, wink ;)

Hurricane Season Rolls into the Duke City

Here is a link to SWOPblogger that features an event this Saturday featuring two amazing Brooklyn Poets, Alixa and Naima.

The doors open at 7 at 1 Kind Studios, 1016 Coal #3 SW.

I personally recommend checking out this show, I saw them last summer in Atlanta, at the United States Social Forum. It was an insightful and inspirational evening that disects the struggle of New Orleans residents during and following Hurricane Katrina.

While at SWOPblogger check out the story and interview with our dear friend Joaquin Lujan.
