Coal Avenue from Mulberry to Sycamore:
Jan. 24-28 – Repave roadway*

Coal Avenue from Oak to Sycamore:
Jan. 17-21 – Install conduit for intelligent traffic system (ITS) and lighting, install driveways and sleeves, install fine grade base course on roadway

Coal Avenue from Sycamore to Hazeldine:
Jan. 24-28 – Repave roadway*

Coal Avenue from Sycamore to Ash:
Jan. 17-21 – Install valley gutter to direct water away from road and across intersections, install driveways and sleeves

* Repaving is dependent on daytime temperature of 40-50 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer for several hours.

General Information:
Construction is expected to last approximately 18 months, through spring 2012. The contractor will work in approximate 5-block areas, finishing all construction in one area before moving on to the next. 2 crews will be working on the project at the same time. Initial work zones will be at Coal & I-25, heading east and at Coal & University, heading east. Regular work hours will be daylight hours (7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday) although crews may work later hours or on weekends if needed due to an emergency or unforeseen circumstance.
