Lead and Coal Construction Update

AS PART OF LEAD AND COAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, CREWS TO CLOSE ONE LANE OF NORTHBOUND CARLISLE FROM SOUTH OF GARFIELD TO NORTH OF COAL FOR LOCATION OF UNDERGROUND UTILITIES FEBRUARY 16 AND 17, 2011

Creating beautifully landscaped, environmentally sensitive, neighborhood, bicycle and pedestrian friendly streets and improving storm drainage.
NOTE: All work is weather permitting and is subject to change without notice

As part of construction for the Lead and Coal Improvements Project, crews will close one lane of northbound Carlisle from south of Garfield to north of Coal Avenue in order to locate underground utilities on Wednesday, Feb. 16 and Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011.

During this closure one lane of northbound traffic and one lane of southbound traffic will be open on Carlisle in the construction zone.

Regular work hours will be 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m...

ACCESS WILL BE MAINTAINED TO ALL LOCAL BUSINESSES AND RESIDENCES.

MOTORISTS ARE ASKED TO ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH THEIR DESTINATIONS, EXERCISE CAUTION IN THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE, AND FOLLOW ALL SIGNS.

South San Pedro Library Receives New International Materials

February 15 event features dedication by City Councilor Rey Garduño, food and live music

Albuquerque, NM, February 15, 2011— Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Libraries and Albuquerque City Councilor Rey Garduño invite you to celebrate the new International Collection on Tuesday, February 15, 6 pm to 7 pm. The event will take place at San Pedro Library, 5600 Trumbull SE. Councilor Garduño will present the dedication for the new collection, followed by live music, food and the change to borrow items from the new collection.

“Libraries are a vital service that the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County provide to the area” said City Councilor Rey Garduño. “I believe it’s important that we empower our communities with resources and this collection allows literature to reach more people in the community, especially in the International District.”

In 2009 voters approved a City GO Bond to fund library materials for the International District. ABC Libraries is proud to launch this fabulous new collection, featuring materials for both adults and children, written in Spanish, French, Arabic, Vietnamese and Mandarin languages. These materials will originate in San Pedro Library.
